Mole's Cottage

“Our first visit to Mole's and just as bright, fun and quirky as we had hoped! Every little thing has been thought of. Thank you so much. ”

— J & M Cambs.

sleeps 2

Mole’s Cottage, standing across the courtyard from our house, is a single storey converted barn now a self-catering holiday cottage where once the daffodils were sorted. The interior is full of character with mellow stone walls, Cornish slate and exposed roof trusses.

about the property

On opening the door you enter the living/kitchen area where bright painted walls contrast with the stonework. There is a comfortable sofa and hand painted table and chairs along with a wood-burning stove. You will also find a T.V./DVD player, ipod dock, CD/radio and a good supply of books, DVDs and board games. The kitchen, with its hand made, painted units and bright tiles, is compact but fully equipped with an electric cooker, ceramic hob, fridge (small freezer compartment for the scrummy organic ice cream made locally),microwave and washing machine.

The bedroom is warm and inviting (as long as you like colour) with a 4’6” bed and a king size duvet so there is no arguing about who has a cold back! The shower room (sorry, more colour) has a power shower, loo and vanity unit so there is plenty of space for the various lotions and potions that I know David and I seem to cart everywhere.

Outside the enclosed courtyard, with its water feature, tree ferns and sculptures, is a riot of colourful flower filled pots during the season, then a myriad of fairy lights in December. This is shared with us although we usually tend to sit the other side of the house so as to leave you in peace. A table, chairs and chimenea/BBQ are outside Mole’s in the hope that we will have plenty of balmy summer evenings for you to enjoy.

This is a perfect, romantic hideaway for two and makes a great base for walking and exploring the area.

Electricity is included as are the linen and towels, although we ask you to bring your own beach towels please. Central heating is also included in the price during the winter months although we do make a charge if you want it on during the summer (see price list).

“What a find! The cottage wants for nothing - brilliant. Surrounding countryside beautiful. Thank you for your warm welcome, we plan to return.”
